James 4:15 - For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Well, here I sit knowing that about right now Sunday School is getting started. I strained my back yesterday and all the plans I had made came to a halt. There is a big lesson in this for me. It shows how our plans are just that, ours. Only God knows what the day will bring. All of that wishing things would slow down so I could have some time.... I should have known better than to even think it. Thankfulness for the health and strength you have, when you have it, is a great thing. Because things can turn around fast! Now instead if wishing for "me" time, I am longing to be at the house of God with my family on this beautiful day.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Phil 4:11

Lord, I am a slow learner!

Hear the Music

Now, let me just say... I usually get quite agitated when I visit a site and music starts blaring at me. But I happened upon this today and it was so soothing. I hope you enjoy it. If not just scroll down to the player on the left and turn it off. : )

Isn't this a beautiful day!

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 85:6

Our men praying at the little rock altar before service

Holy Manna, George Atkins, 1819

Brethren, we have met to worship and adore the Lord our God;Will you pray with all your power, while we try to preach the Word? All is vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One comes down;Brethren, pray, and holy manna will be showered all around.

Brethren, see poor sinners round you slumbering on the brink of woe;Death is coming, hell is moving, can you bear to let them go?See our fathers and our mothers, and our children sinking down;Brethren, pray and holy manna will be showered all around.

Let us love our God supremely, let us love each other, too;Let us love and pray for sinners, till our God makes all things new. Then He’ll call us home to Heaven, at His table we’ll sit down;Christ will gird Himself and serve us with sweet manna all around.

It is revival time again and how I long to have that Holy Manna showered all around. What a great treasure I have found. I need to share it more, I need a greater burden for the lost, I have so many just in my family. Oh, if they only knew. Nothing compares to the joy He can give. Our land needs a revival, a real experience of God's spirit, not just a feel good "God wants you to have the best" kind of thing either, we need to see broken hearts and contrite spirits turn from their ways and come to know Him. Lord, I thank you for the way you put me in. Let the church be revived and seek more after the spiritual and less of the temporal. Let us be prepared to leave our children with that Goodly Inheritance.

Let me make full use of the time God has granted.

Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. Job 14:1-2

Coming to the realization that time does not stand still.

Childhood is such a short time. Having my babies at home with me seems like such a short time when I consider that my first born will be 12 soon. I married at 22, that is just 10 years away from her age. In homeschooling you can spend days, weeks, even years searching for the perfect curriculum or method. When, in reality there is not a day to spare on "getting ready" to have the ideal homeschool; for without the children there is no homeschool. Haven't you heard the little poem that says "babies don't keep." Now, I know that you must take some time to plan and study. I just want to share this thought because I know how easy it is to get caught up in the hunt for the perfect method. I have studied them all, you name it, I have probably read about it or bought it : ) (Just ask the UPS man). But the Lord has been impressing me with the sense that it is time to leave the forums of the homeschool world and work more diligently in the field that he has given me, my home. I know I have much to learn, but I want more of it to come by way of prayer with the One who created my children's heart and mind leading the way. I know these must be the some of the greatest days of my life. Let me make full use of the time God has graciously blessed me with.

I will praise Him in the morning.

Psalm 139
1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

It's Time for the County Fair

My two oldest children take a chalk
art class. My daughter wanted to
enter her favorite pieces in the fair.
This is her picture of Jesus on the
cross and the blue ribbon she won.

Here she is standing under
the "Purple Mountains" that
received a red ribbon.

No Lack of Imagination Here

One of the biggest complaints you here about today's child is that they have no imagination. I think it has more to do with what the parent surrounds the child with and less to do with children lacking imagination. Here are our children with today's adventure. It's a tee-pee ("t-pot" to the little one)

The lady of the Tee-Pee in her kitchen.

Here is Cowboy with his well.

Thank you Lord for this beautiful day!

My Joy

This is how I found them the other day. These are the moments that make homeschooling & mothering
a joy. I am so blessed!
